New Jewelry Obsession

If you haven't heard about her yet, you have got to check her out.  Kendra Scott's line of statement jewelry is to die for.  If I could add one of everything to my Christmas wish list I would, but for now I will share a couple of my favorites.

You know you're getting old when....

Your black friday shopping consists of getting a new vacuum... and you are pumped.  We had a feeling that our old vacuum wasn't doing such a great job when we would sit on the floor and get up looking like we had a fur coat on. (sick).  Anywho, hair no more....we now are the proud owner of the Shark Navigator.

I always prided myself on keeping a clean home and having everything in its rightful place.  After taking it for a spin it quickly looked like we should be on True Life: Hair Hoaders.  I was going to post a pic of what we picked up but Carl said I would more than likely lose some of the few followers that I have, so I will spare you.

Thankful

This year Thanksgiving was a little different than usual.  For the past 16 years or so we have had Thanksgiving in our bathing suits on the beach in Florida.  All of us are getting older and our different schedules make it harder for everyone to take as much time off as we used to.  Even though I didn't end the break with a tan and a new collection of sharks teeth, I will have to say that it ranked up there with one of my favorite family memories.

we had almost as many dogs as humans

some were less excited about walking off what we had eaten

and some refused to leave the couch

Happy Belated Thanksgiving!

Sunday Funday

Like everyone else I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.  Today we had a busy day filled with food, football, and Christmas tree shopping.

Finn loves to bring the outdoors in so you can imagine his excitement when we brought a whole tree into the house.  We are keeping our fingers crossed it stays up with all of its branches till at least Christmas is over.

For dinner Carl made steak salad with feta, mozzarella, honeyed pecans, and balsamic vinegar dressing. So good!

Thank goodness the Kardashians and After Lately come on tonight, it kind of softens the blow of Monday mornings.

I am a terrible blogger

With so much going on recently I have not been able to blog as much as I told myself I would.  Excuses, excuses, excuses, wahhh.  On to some fun pictures of this past weekend.

This last weekend was spent in Charleston celebrating Hannah and Robert's wedding which was beyond beautiful.  The ceremony was held at a church that Hannah had claimed years ago she would get married in after watching a bride enter there on her wedding day.  When she met Robert she found out that 30 years prior his parents were married in that exact same church!

The reception was held at the Governor's mansion about 5 minutes from the ceremony.

I tried to stay in heels the whole night.  I failed miserably.

I forgot how much I love Charleston.  We stayed at The Elliott Inn which I would highly recommend to anyone.  Its a renovated B & B in the middle of downtown so you don't have to worry about driving anywhere.

That's all for now.  We are off to Charlotte this weekend for "Friendsgiving".  Hopefully I won't suck at this next week.

I should have never blogged about relaxing...

I am almost positive I jinxed myself.  Ever since I hit send on that stupid post I have been ridiculously busy.

Today was the mother of all Mondays.

I worked 9.5 hours straight trying to get things done before Charleston this weekend only to come home to find out Finn had NO sympathy for my long day.

He decided to take it upon himself to drop off a big ole shadoobie right on the sidewalk for which I had to clean up.  Being the bigger person I still decided to make him homemade dog treats as a surprise.  He promptly spit them out and is still deciding whether they are edible or not.

Then I open up the dryer to find Carl left me a nice little surprise.

For everyones sake (and safety) I am pretending like daylight savings never happened and am calling it a night.

I love days off

So Finn and I had the day off and boy did we make the best of it.  This is what we managed to accomplish.

1. Not leaving the couch from 9:30-3:30
2. Catching up on the show Revenge from start to finish (obsessed is an understatement)
3. Getting our DVR up to 59% free
4. A pointless trip to Walmart to get things I don't need
5. Getting the oil changed in my car (never get a car that requires synthetic oil, it will cost you an arm and your first born)
6. Returning back to the couch at 5:00

Go us!

La la la leopard

I don't know what it is recently but I can't seem to get enough.  I have found myself adding leopard loafers, scarves, skirts, and belts to my closet.  I may or may not need help...
